What it means for sellers
- Sales slowed sharply in August, partly because of the wildfires near Vernon and Summerland. Some buyers simply paused.
- Listings are down too. Many owners are waiting instead of cutting prices, so there's less competition for the homes that are for sale.
- Prices are holding roughly steady. The single-family benchmark was up slightly from July, while townhouse and condo benchmarks eased.
- Pricing right matters more than ever. Buyers are taking their time and comparing carefully, and homes priced to the market are the ones that sell.
